“He is not here; He is risen, just as He said.” – Matthew 28:6

This verse is very common when we think of Easter. But what do those words truly mean to YOU?

Is it another memorable day spent with family, eating delicious food, showering your kids with goodies and egg-citing festivities?

Or does it mean MORE?

Honestly – I love time with family and spoiling my kids with gifts! But there is one thing I always remember from growing up that has impacted me on a whole new level. We couldn’t even think about the gifts and goodies for ourselves without first reading the the Truth about why we were celebrating!

As a kid, this tried my patience. As a Mother, this is a NEED!

Easter has sadly become another glorified holiday where the real reason for celebration has been downplayed. And that is because many DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE GOSPEL!

The life of Jesus isn’t just a “great” story to know, it’s much much more than that! You need to have understanding to fully embrace the purpose of Jesus coming to this earth and dying for our sins in order to share the Gospel!

Matthew 28:6 said “He is Risen, just as He said…” Jesus told many about what was to come and no one understood! They didn’t have the knowledge or wisdom to comprehend the significance of this sacrifice!

A long time ago, God came up with a Masterplan. And on this special day, that Masterplan came to completion!

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.”

Ephesians 1:7-10

If Easter is just another day to say you celebrated, then you’re missing the point! Make YOUR celebration of today signicant, just as Jesus Christ’s sacrifice changed our lives forver!

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

*CHALLENGE: Pray today for wisdom and understanding to fully embrace the message of the Gospel! And then, put into play The Great Commission! (Matthew 28:18-20)

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your One and Only Son! May ALL who hear the Gospel believe in Him so they will never perish but have eternal life with You! Guide us and fill us with the Spirit so we may have wisdom and understanding. Thank You for your abundant blessings! In Your Name, Amen.
