“If one part suffers, every part suffers with it…”

1 Corinthians 12:26a

Right now, our nation, our world is suffering. We need healing, we need reaching, we need teaching. Ultimately, we need to find a Way.

Last night I went to bed praying for ways to be used specifically during this pandemic, during this time of uncertainty. At 2:11 am I woke up to a thirsty 2-year-old. As I went to get a drink, I heard the Casting Crowns song, “If We Are the Body.” Half dazed, I filled up the cup and headed back to her bed.

The rest of my night was restless sleep, yet, I failed to get up, and seek out that voice. My morning started off rough and my attitude showed that! Then, I remembered that voice in the night.

“If We Are the Body…”

I instantly broke down and grabbed my bible and journal. I surrendered my guilt for not listening to that voice in the middle of the night and asked Him to use me, use my special part to show The Way!

“If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.”

1 Corinthians 12:26b

Obedience. All you need is to obey that still small voice, gently nudging you to USE your part of the body! Honor the body together – rejoice together!

And remember we ALL have different parts, so what we are called to do isn’t going look just like someone else, BUT our purpose is the same!

We are in the season of remembering our Lord and Savior this Easter season. The lyrics below hit a deeper spot in my heart today.

For us to pick and choose who should come

And we are the body of Christ
But if we are the body
Why aren’t His arms reaching?
Why aren’t His hands healing?
Why aren’t His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren’t His feet going?

I have one simple question to ask you,

What is YOUR part?

“The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; though all my parts are many, they form ONE body. So it is with Christ.
If any one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
Now, YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST and each part of you is a part of it.”

1 Corinthians 12:12;26-27

*CHALLENGE: What is something you can do today, to use that special part of the body you’ve been given, to uplift those needing to find the Way? Unite with the other parts! And pray together as the Body of Christ!

Dear gracious Lord, Your Word clearly states that You designed us to be ONE! One body to represent Your Son! You’ve given us each our very own, special role and right now, we are hurting! We are needing a way; The Way to see hope in this crisis and trust Your perfect plan has already been set in motion. May Your Way be our way! Protect us, guide us and strengthen us to be all You’ve created us to be! In Your Holy Name, Amen.
