Lost and Found

That tattered old cardboard box, you know the one. Heaped with random treasures gathering dust on the top shelf in the back closet. On rare occasions curious eyes would see the scribbles ‘Lost & Found’ followed by inquiring hands that would peruse through the loot. Almost never being chosen for a new home, each item dropped back into the crowded, yet desolate box.

Have you found yourself here? Whether an item in the box, or one browsing? When we are lost we are left searching. But the question I ask is,

What are we searching for?

When sin entered this world, it left an emptiness inside where perfect unity was intended to be. Something deep within our very being is rooted in the fact that we were created in God’s image. Created to be complete.

Speaking from experience, it’s all too easy to get caught up in looking for that missing piece of our heart. Rather than asking for help to find it.

I’ve been there. I’ve been an item, rummaged through then put back, time and time again. I’ve also been one to search through things that are not mine, and always come up empty handed. In most cases, I come out more lost than when I started.

Some fill the void with money, attention, sex, drugs, alcohol, being busy, avoiding the hard parts of life or anything that brings a temporary high to ease the pain that dwells deep inside.

If you have ever found yourself aimlessly wandering, either in a physical or spiritually manner, I challenge you to take time and watch this video.

In Genesis 16:13, the Lord spoke to Hagar in a very trying time. In her searching He found her, He saw her, therefore, she bestowed upon Him the name, ‘El Roi‘ which means, the ‘God Who Sees Me.’

You may have been lost, looking for more to make you whole, or possibly are currently in that seeking stage, but I urge you to stop, open your eyes to see and truly know with all your heart that you have been found!

When we are left searching for that missing piece, we are often led astray looking in all the wrong places. But there is only ONE that can fill this void, and His name is Jesus.

Jesus Christ, the One who came to make us whole again, has found us! He sees us, right where we are at and has called us each by name! We are no longer a missing item in a tattered old box, but found and fully redeemed! There is no need to continue the search for something that was lost, because He found us and has called us His own!

Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are mine
!
Isaiah 43:1

CHALLENGE: Choose today to KNOW that God is present. Right next to you, waiting to be ushered into your life! He not only SEES you, but He HEARS you! Just look at this beautiful reminder in Daniel.

“Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.” Daniel 10:12

Be intentional about EXPERIENCING God today! Because He already has found you! Accept that phenomenal truth today!!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You are overwhelming, in the best way possible! You see us, You hear every cry and You want us! You do not need us, Lord, but Your love was so immense that in Your perfect image, you made us! This world is consumed by sin and has left us lost. Sin has scattered the intricate pieces of who we are all over and we are left searching and trying to piece them back together. But Father, YOU are the only One who can make us whole! Help us to see that truth! And believe that truth today! We love you! Thank You for Who You are! In Your precious Name, Amen.

Binge Jesus RIGHT NOW!
